Rasoi Gives Its Support to Vital Health and Education Projects

Charity has always been an important part of the Rasoi Indian Kitchen ethos and those at the helm of the popular Pontlliw eaterie have just donated £1,000 to a cause close to their hearts.

The money, donated to the British Sikh Council, will help support important health and education projects throughout India. The Council runs schools, missions and hospitals, as well as providing much needed emergency help for people and for communities that have been hit by natural disasters.

They also offer specialised courses to help advance and improve the lives of women, children, and of those who have been excluded or mistreated because of the caste system - the group's credo is based upon the Sikh principles of equality, tolerance of other peoples and faiths, and of sharing good fortune with others.

Rasoi owner Suki Kullar said he was pleased to add his support, "We are happy to get behind the good work of the British Sikh Council, which is having a real impact on lives and communities. Doing what we can to help good causes has always been a big part of our work here at Rasoi. We regularly support charities both at home and abroad, with financial aid and by giving our own time."
